Folder/File Permission problems for Lucid Stand alone software

1. New students (or their test results) are not being saved/ error message when trying to save.

2. ‘Error: 3246, Source: ExactAdmin.modGlobel.Main Connection object cannot be explicitly closed while in a transaction.’

3. Message 'Error : -2147467259 Source: ExactAdmin.modGlobal.NextID Exact admin must use an updatable query' when entering students.

4. Message 'Run time error '75: Path/File access error'.

This is a File Permissions issue. It means that under the currently logged in User account, the Lucid database is set to be Read-Only, preventing new information from being saved to it.

To resolve this (usually) requires help from trained ICT Support to carry out the modifications to the User account outlined below:

Read and Write permissions should be applied to the folder below and all its contents:

(For Windows XP)
C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lucid Research\Lucid Product Name\n.nn

(For Vista or Windows 7)
C:\ProgramData\Lucid Research\Lucid Product Name\n.nn

(For example: Lucid Product Name could be Lucid CoPS and n.nn could be 5.06)

Note: You may have to change the folder options from an Administrator login in order to see these folders.
